If you have been waiting for the official release date of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story we now know that it will be released on Digital HD on March 24, and on Blu Ray on April 4. I am looking forward to seeing it again. And we will also be getting the first trailer for Star Wars Episode VIII – The Last Jedi (2017) around the same time.

The third trailer for King Arthur: Legend of the Sword (2017) was released this week, and it has a different feel than the Comic-Con trailer released back in July – I still think it looks like it could be quite good. It will hit theaters on May 12, 2017.

Last week, I saw the 2017 DTS Demo Disc – Volume 21 that was distributed last month at CES for sale on eBay. Since getting it on eBay is a lot easier than flying to Las Vegas I decided to make the purchase. The 2017 DTS Demo Disc – Volume 21, included six new DTS trailers. Three DTS:X “Out of the Box” in 15, 30, and 60 second versions; and three DTS HD “Out of the Box” Trailers, also in 15, 30, and 60 second versions. I am happy to be able to share these with my fellow home theater and DTS enthusiasts! So head over to the DTS Trailers page and check them out. Oh, and if you do not have playback capability for DTS:X or DTS-HD MA, the second track contains the lossy DTS 5.1 encode.

I also added the DTS:X Object Emulator, which is a nifty demo showing an object (a ball) moving in a 3D space and the sound in your home theater matches the location of the object. It has a nice beat too. How fun is that?

The 30 Second Super Bowl Spot for ‘Ghost in the Shell’ starring Scarlett Johansson is now available at the Ghost in the Shell page. I am not sure if there will be an extended version broadcast during the Super Bowl as there is no indication in the 30 second spot that there will be. Transformers clearly states to tune in for the extended spot, so this may be it for ‘Ghost in the Shell’.

When it rains, it pours…as they say. It has been quiet for a bit, and now all of a sudden I have a backlog of things to process and post! We will start off with the official 5.1 mix of Logan Trailer 2 (Redband) for those of you who are old enough to hear some F words. I also will be uploading the official mix of Alien Covenant, and Trainspotting 2. As you probably know there is a football game on Sunday and there will be Superbowl spots for Transformers: The Last Knight, and Ghost in the Shell. I have the short versions of both, and will be uploading them tomorrow as well. And there is more…including Dolby Atmos and DTS:X demos, coming soon.
