Keanu Reeves returns as Neo in The Matrix Resurrections (2021) set to hit theatres on December 21, 2021. This is the fourth installment in the Matrix franchise, and to me looks a lot more like the first film, than the other two. Perhaps that is a good thing, but the original was certainly the best of the three. You can download the first trailer for The Matrix Resurrections from the links below. For now I only have an official stereo mix.

  1. I’m interested in video bitrate, not audio. Is 32Mbps h264 significantly better than the official YouTube upload? I’d like to refer this website to friends. What best describes the source of the trailers? Is anyone else receiving these high quality copies? Is digital theater the only one kind enough to host the files for anyone to access?

    Thanks.

    1. The average YouTube video has a video bitrate of 2 or 3 Mbps. That makes the average quality of this site more than 10 times higher.

The source files can reach up to 150 to 200 Mbps (at this rate, a 2 minute trailer is 2-3 GB large). Those files are only available through private platforms and are not meant for public distribution.

    1. Hi Victor, The h265 has a bit depth of 10, instead of 8 like the h264 which is the same as the master. However, the bit rate of the h264 is 32 Mbps vs. 16 Mbps for the h265. I used half the bit rate for the h265 as it provides similar quality to h264 at that bit rate. Then some systems may have problems playing h265 where h264 is more widely supported. From the just posted Dune trailers, the h265 10 bit is hands down closer to the master than the h264. But sometimes it comes down to personal preference. I am sure someone can provide a more technical answer.

  2. Hey, is there any chance to get the trailer in 4k and especially in 5.1 or Atmos? That would be awesome 🙂
