It has been a little while since I added a new trailer. February is usually a slow time of the year, but things will be picking up now into the summer season, unless COVID-19 derails the schedule. You may have heard that yesterday it was announced that the upcoming James Bond film ‘No Time To Die’ has been moved from April to November 25, 2020 because they determined that it would have an impact on the box office results. A lot of cinemas are closed, so that makes sense. If the situation continues to deteriorate, we may see a larger shift in the release schedule.

Tom Hanks stars in ‘Greyhound’ for which he also wrote the screenplay. Inspired by actual events during World War II and adapted from the novel ‘The Good Shepherd’ by C. S. Forester. Greyhound is set to hit theaters in June. I do not have a 5.1 mix at this time, but I should be able to get one before too long. I did a 5.1 upmix, but I was not very happy with the result. Sometimes, it just doesn’t work, so for now we have the official stereo mix which sounds pretty good using the Surround processor in 7.1

This took me a little longer than expected due to some network issues. Vin Diesel said it would be an epic trailers, and coming in just shy of 4 minutes of non-stop action I have to agree. Obviously, if you want to be spoiler free then this is not the trailer for you, because it has many. The sound mix is from the dialogue, music and effects stems. I don’t know if we will ever get an official 5.1 mix for this 4 minute trailer as I don’t think it will be shown in theaters. Download links are below.

Q: Will a high quality version of the epic trailer be available tonight?
A: With the high amount of materials leading up to the trailer drop, I expect so.

Q: Will it be in 5.1 Audio?
A: Probably not. But I will upload an official PCM Stereo version as well as a 5.1 DTS:Neural X Up-Mix.

Q: Will it be available in 4K?
A: Probably not tonight, but likely in a week or so. I have been working on 4K HDR workflows, so if things go well, a 10 Bit, HEVC, 4K, HDR, Rec2020 version may be posted. That is the plan.

As previously mentioned, I was waiting to post the first trailer for Morbius (2020) until I got a better audio mix. Unfortunately, the only true 5.1 I could get was not English, but the big problem was that it was for a different cut of the trailer and was about 70 seconds shorter. Therefore, I went with a DTS:Neural Upmix and for those who do not like upmixes, the official stereo is also provided. Download links are below. Judging by the Spider-Man graffiti in the alley shot it appears that Morbius takes place after Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019).

As promised, here is Trailer F5 for the upcoming Harley Quinn film ‘Birds of Prey’ (2020). This is an unofficial mix, but it is very, very close to the official. Left, Right, LFE and surrounds are from an official non English mix, and have not been changed in any way. The Center channel was edited to remove the non English dialogue. This was then mixed with the English dialogue and any missing background music and effects. The result is near identical but in English. The video source was 25 fps PAL, which I converted to 24 fps to match the source audio. This preserves the audio pitch, which was a problem with the Tenet trailer which I plan to fix. The second trailer for Top Gun: Maverick (2020) arrived a few days ago, and I am really happy to have it available for you to enjoy. And it is a fantastic trailer, especially the versions with the IMAX 1.89 aspect ratio. Not only is it IMAX, it is 4K as well (4096×2160). You may notice that this is labeled as an “Unofficial Mix” and that is because the audio was sourced from the IMAX version, which officially only has a 5.0 track (no LFE). This is unofficial because I added a LFE track. I encoded a 2K version as well preserving the aspect ratio for those whose system would benefit from it. There is also the 1920×1080 widescreen versions as well.

I know I mentioned that there would be a 4K Black Widow trailer coming soon. I am working on it, but I have run out of time and will be hitting the road for the holidays.
