This is it, the final Star Wars trailer for the Skywalker Saga: Star Wars Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker Trailer 2. Unfortunately, it is stereo only. But don’t worry – a 5.1 version will arrive in a few days time. I am only going to post the stereo version, and not do an upmix since I should get a proper 5.1 before too long.

Back on July 19, 2019 I posted Top Gun: Maverick (2020) Trailer 1 with a DTS:Neural UpMix from the stereo PCM master. I recently obtained a foreign language 5.1 version – which is also in 4K. So, I did a few things:
1. I created a mix using the foreign language 5.1 track, maintaining the Left, Right, LFE, Left Surround and Right Surround channels as they contained no dialogue – just the music and effects mixed for those channels. I replaced the Center channel with the one from the DTS:Neural UpMix. This was then encoded in DTS-HD Master Audio and AC3 5.1 tracks.
2. I created a new version of the 1080p trailer uploaded back in July. It has the same video track, I multiplexed the new DTS-HD and AC3 tracks.
3. I up-scaled the 1080p H264 Master at 24 fps and extracted the English title cards. I converted the 4K, 4096×2160 version of the trailer to a 4096×1716 H264 to remove the black bars. I then replaced the foreign language title cards with the English title cards. From this, I created two .mkv files: One as a 32 Mbps H264 .mkv and another as a 10 Mbps H265 HEVC .mkv file. These were then multiplexed with the new DTS-HD MA 5.1 and AC3 tracks. You can download all of these from the links below. Enjoy!
Trailer 1 4K
Video: HEVC H265 10Mbps
Audio: (Hybrid Mix) DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1, AC3 5.1
Image: Scope, 4096×1716
Format: MKV
Size: 253 MB ** I experienced some playback issues with the H265 Encode. If you do, I recommend using the 4K H264 version instead. Your experience may vary **

1917 is set during World War I and tells the story of two young soldiers who are sent deep into enemy territory to deliver a message that will stop 1600 men from being caught in an enemy trap. Directed by Sam Mendes (Skyfall) and cinematography by Roger Deakins (Skyfall), 1917 is presented as one continuous shot, which poses some unique challenges. Of course, neither trailer is presented as a continuous shot. The trailers below were mixed from the dialogue, music and effects tracks, and took many hours to put together. I hope you enjoy the results.

The first time I saw the trailer for Underwater, I realized that I generally like movies set under water. One that I have not watched in a long time is James Cameron’s ‘The Abyss’ (1989), specifically the Special Edition. For some reason, this is a film that has never been released in a format better than DVD. I keep thinking how great it would be to see it on a decent screen. I am not sure if it will ever be released on Blu-ray or in 4K, but I sure hope that one day it will. I got a bit sidetracked there, but maybe this is the final push James Cameron needs to get it released. In 2020, 20th Century Fox brings a new under water adventure to the big screen. Aptly named, Underwater, it tells the story of a research crew down on the ocean floor. There are some rumblings, some bangs, some leaks. Naturally all hell breaks loose. Underwater stars Kristen Stewart and others. You can find Trailer 1 at the link below.

Well, I think we have a winner for the longest movie title, behold: “Birds of Prey: And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn” (or as I like to call it, BOPATFEOOHQ). Anyway, the trailer was released earlier this week, and I put together a mix from the dialogue, music and effects tracks. This is not an official mix, but it is not an upmix either. Enjoy.

The King’s Man (2020) takes place before the previous films, Kingsman: The Secret Service (2015) and Kingsman: The Golden Circle (2017). Matthew Vaughn returns to direct this third, though out of sequence installment. I really enjoyed the first two and I am really looking forward to seeing this one. I think the benefit here is that it can potentially expand the scope to allow for future films. I believe there are at least two more planned, so bring ’em on. Trailer 2 can be found below with a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 mix as well as an AC3 5.1 mix. Enjoy, it looks and sounds great in a home theater with a full surround array and a big screen.

Trailer 3, for Disney’s Frozen II (2019) is now available. Frozen II is the highly anticipated sequel to Frozen (2013) which brought in over 1.2 billion USD at the global box office, and likely as much in princess costumes. Needless to say, expectations are high and the opening weekend is forecast to top 145 million. Frozen II hits theaters on November 22nd.

Mike Lowery (Will Smith) and Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence) return in Bad Boys For Life (2020), the third in the “Bad Boys” series which began with Bad Boys (1995) and followed up with Bad Boys II (2003). I have had this trailer for a few weeks now, but I decided to hold off until I could get a 5.1 mix. I am not sure it was worth the wait. It really is not as an aggressive track as I thought it would be. Bad Boys For Life arrives on January 17, 2020. Oh, and I should mention it is the RED BAND trailer, so there are some F-bombs in there.

Just got the D23 Expo ‘Special Look’ footage for ‘The Rise of Skywalker’ (2019) uploaded. Some have asked for 4K, but 1080p is the highest quality I have access to. I really like this as it does a nice job of tying the old and new together. The part that most people will be concerned with is the photo above. It is probably a vision of the future, like when Luke chopped off Vader’s head in the cave in The Empire Strikes Back (1980). However, perhaps she isn’t evil but just really likes the look of a red light sabre. Who knows? I guess we will have to wait and see. And we don’t have long to wait now, it is less than 4 months until release date.
You can get the D23 Special Look (which really is a trailer) at the link below, and if you want to check out the first trailer (and trailers from other Star Wars films), go here: Star Wars Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker (2019)
