Here is the 4K (4096×1716) version of Tenet Trailer 3. A few notes on the encode. The original was 12 bit in the XYZ color space. In the past, I have converted from this format to 8 bit RGB which resulted in banding in the blacks (like the Top Gun: Maverick IMAX Trailer). This time for the conversion to the RGB color space, I transcoded to ProRes 422 HQ which has a bit depth of 10 bits. I needed to do be able to edit the titles so that they would be English, so this appeared to be the best way to go. I then did two HEVC encodes from the ProRes 422 HQ – 1 with HDR grading in Rec2020 color primaries, and one with SDR in Rec709. The results look quite good, and I could not detect any excessive banding issues. The downside is on the encoding – which took about 18 hours each to encode to HEVC. I may take some time to re-encode some of the past 4K trailers that have banding issues, particularly Top Gun: Maverick.
The audio is an official studio 5.1 mix. What is interesting is that there are a lot more sound effects in the mix, than what were available in the effects track that I used in the 1080p mixes. Not sure why they were not included, but they were not. Needless to say, this sounds much better.
AN IMAX ASPECT RATIO 4K VERSION IS COMING SOON

Thanks for the official mix!
WB marketing needs to get their shit together. All their recent split audio masters have a lot of missing sound effects.
God bless you
Your effort is appreciated. The blacks are crushed a lot. There’s no shadow detail, in fact I compared with the SDR version on Youtube, that one has more shadow detail than this HDR version. I tried to increase the shadow using premiere, but the detail is not there. It’s crushed.
Please upload 4K VERSION OF BLACK WIDOW FINAL TRAILER…..WITH BEST ENCODE
The HDR version looks better (has no banding), but the black levels are slightly elevated (dark grey instead of actual black).
Since you say it was 12-Bit and XYZ colour space I’m assuming this was sourced from a DCP?
Thanks alot! Been waiting for some new trailers lately! It’s been a while now! Keep up the good work! 🙂
The graded HDR looks.. weird/off… like the blacks are too dark.
Can barely see John David Washington’s face
Same here, it’s all look too dark. When running “mediainfo” on the file, I see that all other HDR10-files I have has these settings:
—-
Color range : Limited
Color primaries : BT.2020
Transfer characteristics : PQ
Matrix coefficients : BT.2020 non-constant
Mastering display color primaries : Display P3
Mastering display luminance : min: 0.0040 cd/m2, max: 1100 cd/m2
—-
Color range : Limited
Color primaries : BT.2020
Transfer characteristics : PQ
Matrix coefficients : BT.2020 non-constant
Mastering display color primaries : Display P3
Mastering display luminance : min: 0.0500 cd/m2, max: 1200 cd/m2

BUT, this Tenet HDR video has these:
—-
Color range : Full
Color primaries : BT.2020
Transfer characteristics : PQ
Matrix coefficients : BT.2020 non-constant

Maybe this has something to do with the fact that the video is too dark, I do not know?
Will the Imax one be 32mbps? And any chances of just going full fledged 12bit? Thanks
Will the Imax one be 32 mbps? Also could full fledge 12 bit be on the horizon? Thanks
Woops I knew I already made that comment the day before
When is the MIAX ratio 4k version being released?
