Coming soon – Lossless Audio Movie Trailers

Over the next few days we will be uploading lossless versions of some of the trailers already featured on this site. I will be starting with The Force Awakens, and Spectre. Going forward, we will feature all new trailers with a lossless option – the first to be Legend and The Night Before. Depending upon the source, some will be LPCM and others will be FLAC.  Since the file size is much larger, I will probably use a third party file sharing site to store those trailers as they will rapidly eat up my allocated server space.

To be notified when new trailers are added, simply subscribe to this site or like us on facebook. Have a request?  We would love to hear from you!

New trailers hitting cinemas this weekend include the Will Smith Football drama Concussion, Christmas horror flick Krampus, and Our Brand is Crisis. I just received Our Brand is Crisis and I have not had the time to transcode it yet, but I will post it tomorrow. In addition to those, I have added Daddy’s Home, The Good Dinosaur, Sicario, and Point Break. All are 1080p HD AC3 5.1 640 Kbps.

Trailers added for Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse, Macbeth, Black Mass, and Zoolander 2

It has been a bit of a slow week, but I do have some updates. As previously mentioned, I uploaded the 3D versions of the latest Hunger Games – Mockingjay Part 2 trailer on the Mockingjay Part 2 trailers page.

New additions for Scouts Guide to the Zombie ApocalypseBlack MassMacbeth and two hundred lander, er, I mean Zoolander 2.

A quick apology – those 4 trailers have a slightly lower audio bitrate and I did not notice the encoder setting until I had completed them and deleted the master files.  So sorry.

How To, My thoughts

Plex Media Server (Review)

Plex Home Theater

Plex Media Server and Plex Home Theater

Last night, I installed Plex Media Server (PMS) and Plex Home Theater (PHT) on my dedicated home theater PC. In the simplest of terms, the PMS turns your PC into a media server that you can access on your home network using a variety of devices with
the corresponding Plex application for those devices. In my case, since I was using a dedicated PC connected to my receiver I installed the Plex Home Theater app on my PC.

What are the benefits of using Plex over a media player?

First and foremost, it allows for the full output of Dolby True HD and DTS HD Master Audio. Oh, and it is free, which is always a great thing in my books. You can however, purchase a “Plex Pass” which will give you some additional features, such as sharing and automatic inclusion of theatrical trailers before movies. I am opting to not have a Plex Pass at this time, so I cannot comment on those features.  (more…)
