IMAX Sonic Anthem – High Quality Video and DTS-HD MA 5.1 audio 2

IMAX Sonic Anthem - High Quality Video and DTS-HD MA 5.1 audio

IMAX Sonic Anthem

I recently received a higher quality version of the IMAX Sonic Anthem – Celebrating 1000 Theatres. This version has a video bit rate of 40 Mbps compared to 3.4 Mbps of the earlier one on the site. In addition the new file has a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track instead of a lossy AC3 5.1 like the original upload. You can get the new version at the IMAX Pre-Show Trailers Page. Thanks Noah!

Angry Birds 2 (2019) Trailer 1 1080p DTS-HD MA and AC3 5.1 1

Angry Birds 2 (2019)

Angry Birds 2 (2019)

Here is trailer 1 for Angry Birds 2 (2019), which will hit theatres in August. You will notice that the lossless audio is encoded in DTS-HD Master Audio. Going forward it is my intention to drop PCM and DTS and use DTS-HD Master Audio instead. This should solve some other issues like odd channel mapping with PCM tracks in VLC, as well as issues some experienced with the old DTS 1536 kbps tracks. AC3 will still be included as a backup on mkv files.

With regards to HEVC (H.265), I am not going to be uploading any more trailers in H.265 until I can work out some issues I have experienced. I did an HEVC encode of Frozen II which, ironically, would freeze my computer when played and could only be recovered by doing a hard boot. It is my intention to provide HEVC encodes in the future, but it still needs some work.

Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw (2019) Trailers 1080p 5.1 Audio (PCM, DTS, AC3)

Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw (2019)

I recently completed a 5.1 mix for Hobbs and Shaw, which can be found at the Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw (2019) page. I also added a 10 bit H265 encode.

A few people have been asking for the Super Bowl big game spots for Captain Marvel and Avengers. Unfortunately, I don’t have those.

Will we see the first trailer for Star Wars Episode IX (2019) in seven days? 2

Star Wars Episode IX

Star Wars Episode IX (2019) Trailers

Star Wars: Episode IX is probably the most anticipated movie of 2019, although it has a lot of competition from Avengers: Endgame (2019); thankfully they are spaced over half a year apart. There has been a lot of speculation over the past couple of weeks as to whether we will see a first glimpse of Episode IX during the Super Bowl, which will be held on Sunday, February 3, 2019. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 pm ET, and will be broadcast on CBS in the United States.

The rumors that I have seen suggest that Disney has purchased three 30 second spots for Episode IX, which together will comprise a complete teaser. While the trailer for Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018) premiered at the Super Bowl last year, it served as a place to generate interest especially considering the huge amount of negative stories and attention that Solo was being bogged down with. And with the release of the teaser during the Super Bowl, it also served as a trailer announcement, as the first full trailer dropped the following day. Considering how well known the core Skywalker Saga is, and there is no bad press surrounding the production of Episode IX, I tend to think that Disney would be better off spending the money on other films. But I could be wrong.

When will we see the first full trailer?

The first trailer for Episode VIII – The Last Jedi was released during Celebration Orlando, on April 14, 2017. It specifically dropped on Friday afternoon just after it premiered at Celebration Orlando. Celebration Chicago takes place this year from April 11 to 15th. If they follow the same pattern, then it will likely drop on April 12, 2019 at around 2 PM Eastern. To me, that sounds like a good bet. But if it does show up next week, I’ll be ready.

If you want to know when the trailer is available on the site, you can follow thedigitaltheater on Facebook at Facebook.com/thedigitaltheater or on Twitter at Twitter.com/digital_theater, or you can subscribe to this blog to receive an email notification when new content is posted.

Dolby Atmos Nature’s Fury – TrueHD ATMOS 7.1 12

Dolby Atmos Receivers

Thanks to a kind visitor to the site, we now have a much better quality of the much sought after “Nature’s Fury” trailer in Dolby TrueHD ATMOS 7.1. You can find it at the Dolby Trailers page.

I also added some direct links to the IMAX 4K and 1080p versions of the Avengers: Endgame (2019) first trailer as some folks have been having issues downloading from We Transfer. This should take care of that.

I have been asked about John Wick 3, and I have put together a nice up mix of Trailer 1, but I am still hoping to obtain an official mix. If I don’t get it today, I will upload it tomorrow. Stay tuned.
