Straight Outta Compton hits theaters on Friday, August 14 2015.
In 1987, five young men, using brutally honest rhymes and hardcore beats, put their frustration and anger about life in the most dangerous place in America into the most powerful weapon they had: their music. Taking us back to where it all began, Straight Outta Compton tells the true story of how these cultural rebels—armed only with their lyrics, swagger, bravado and raw talent—stood up to the authorities that meant to keep them down and formed the world’s most dangerous group, N.W.A. And as they spoke the truth that no one had before and exposed life in the hood, their voice ignited a social revolution that is still reverberating today.
Straight Outta Compton stars O’Shea Jackson Jr., Corey Hawkins and Jason Mitchell as Ice Cube, Dr. Dre and Eazy-E, and is directed by F. Gary Gray (Friday, Set It Off, The Italian Job). The drama is produced by original N.W.A members Ice Cube and Dr. Dre, who are joined by fellow producers Tomica Woods-Wright, Matt Alvarez, Gray and Scott Bernstein. Will Packer serves as executive producer of the film alongside Adam Merims, David Engel, Bill Straus, Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni.
The long anticipated sequel to the 1996 blockbuster, Independence Day has finally been revealed. Independence Day: Resurgence or IDR, is scheduled for release next summer. The film features many of the original cast – Jeff Goldblum, Vivica A. Fox, Bill Pullman (minus Will Smith) and Brent Spiner as Dr. Okun. Now, you may recall that Dr. Okun appeared to have died in the original film so it will be interesting to see how he makes it back. Needless to say, Independence Day was a great movie for home theatre 20 years ago but the effects are looking very dated now. I am certainly adding Independence Day: Resurgence to my list of upcoming films that I am looking forward to see. No word on when the first teaser will be released, but I would expect sometime this fall. We will have it here.
I am sorry for the mix up with the earlier version of this trailer. Here is a brand new encode from the 6 Channel DVCPRO HD Studio Master. You can download the new version here:
