I have been working on the encodes of these trailers for a couple of weeks, and I think this is the best I can do. There were a number of challenges getting it to look right with the muted but also detailed color palette. The 10 bit encodes closely resemble the source materials. The UHD Trailer 1 is sourced from a 4K jpeg 2000 file that I converted to DNxHR HQX 10 bit using Davinci Resolve for encoding to AVC as well as HEVC 10 bit using Abobe Premiere Pro. The audio is the official studio 5.1 track that was posted by dragonmcmx in the user uploaded trailers. The 1080p version was encoded from the ProRes master.

Trailer 4 was also encoded from the official ProRes master, with the official studio 5.1 mix from the file uploaded by dragonmcmx. The PCM audio was encoded to DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1. This will address issues many people have playing PCM tracks correctly depending upon the channel mapping. So, that fixes those problems. I do not have a 4K version of Trailer 4 at this time.

I do have a 4K UHD version of trailer 6, but the 5.1 audio is in Russian or Ukranian. I will see if I can find a high quality English stereo version to upload. If you have an English audio track for trailer 6 or a 4K version of trailer 4, please let know.

Dune (2021) tells the story of Paul (Timothée Chalamet), a young man born into a great destiny. In order to ensure the future of his family and people, he goes to the most dangerous planet in the universe, where conflict erupts over the planet’s exclusive supply of the most precious resource in existence. Dune is directed by Denis Villeneuve (Arrival, Sicario) and arrives in theaters on October 22, 2021.

Keanu Reeves returns as Neo in The Matrix Resurrections (2021) set to hit theatres on December 21, 2021. This is the fourth installment in the Matrix franchise, and to me looks a lot more like the first film, than the other two. Download the first trailer for Pixar’s Turning Red (2022) which is about a 13 year old who turns into a giant red panda whenever she gets too excited. It certainly would make being that age all the more awkward. For the first time Pixar has set one of their films in Canada – Toronto to be precise, which should make Drake very happy. I went to a showing of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings last night. It was fantastic. The fight sequences were really tight and there were a few nice surprises. If you can go to the theater and see it I highly recommend it. The visuals deserve the biggest screen you can get. And stay to the very end as there are two post credits scenes.

I remember being in the theatre when the post-credits scene ran during Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019) and there was a great reaction to the rapid fire revelations with J. Jonah Jameson revealing Spider-Man’s identity as Peter Parker and casting him as the bad guy. Well, Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) picks up with Peter Parker living as an outed Super Hero and all the issues that go with it. Thinking it would be best if his identity was never revealed, Peter makes a visit to Doctor Strange who casts a spell in an attempt to do so. Unfortunately, things don’t go as planned and Peter Parker (and Doctor Strange?) finds himself living in the Multiverse. Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues with Eternals (2021). The Eternals are ancient beings who have lived secretly on earth for thousands of years. Set after the events of Avengers: Endgame (2019) the eternals are called to action after a tragedy. I wonder why ‘the snap’ wasn’t enough to bring them to the forefront, and would this tragedy be worse than ‘the snap’? Luckily, the trailer offers no clues and hopefully it stays that way. Eternals hit theaters on November 5, 2021 – hot on the heels of the July release of Black Widow and the September release of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021). The sound mix on this trailer is unofficial. It is based upon a non-English official 5.1 track. The Left, Right, LFE and Surrounds are original.
